Xbox Studios’ Gears 5: Escape is the newest game mode in the franchise, introducing a bold new co-op mode for players. Axis Studios created the trailer, enriching and expanding upon the well established Gears universe.
With an original narrative, three new characters embark on a suicide mission to help rid swarm hives from the Sera and players can team up to destroy the hive from within. To set the game’s fast-pace, Axis Studios applied a full range of technological techniques, including motion-capture, recording the movement of six actors on stage acting out complex stunts and choreography. Axis put viewers up-close to the action, using a virtual camera to create 90% of all the shots – this was the first time the team had utilised the technology.
The trailer was released in breath-taking 4K at E3 2019.
